Victory Venkatesh’s ongoing remake of the super hit Malayalam flick Bodyguard has been reportedly titled Ganga – The Bodyguard. It is directed by Gopichand Malineni under the banner of Sri Sai Ganesh Productions. Its shooting is currently progressing at a brisk pace in Hyderabad.

Notably, Ganga was the title registered for Amma Rajasekhar’s Venky starrer some time back, but the film was shelved. Sources said that producer Bellamkonda has acquired the title from Amma Rajasekhar for the ongoing remake.

One of the main reasons why Ganga is taken for the remake is said to be that  all of Venkatesh’s films with female titles were immensely successful at the box office.(galatta)

Teja, who introduced Uday Kiran, Reema Sen (Chitram), Anitha (Nuvvu Nenu), Nithin, Sada (Jayam), Navdeep (Jai) and Kajal Aggarwal (Lakshmi Kalyanam) into films, is planning to direct a new film with a bench of newcomers in the lead. This still-untitled film will be produced by Ananda Prasad. More details are yet to be known.

Teja’s last directorial venture was Keka, which was a disaster. After Keka, he started a heroine oriented flick Savitri with Venkatesh under the banner of Suresh Production, but the film was shelved after a few days. Though Teja has a reputation of introducing so many talents in films, he has been going through a rough phase in his career for the past few years.(galatta)

Tapsee, who is till now known as glam babe in Telugu Cinema industry, will be doing an author backed role in the remake of Bollywood hit Tanu Weds Manu . She has signed the remake to play the role of Tanu – a smart, intelligent and rebellious girl who is dead against arranged marriage. The role brought many accolades to Kangana Ranaut. Now Tapsee steps in, playing opposite comedian turned hero Sunil.

Megasuper Good Movies is producing the film while Devi Prasad directs it. Sameer Reddy is to handle the camera.

On the last day shoot of devotional movie, Sri Ramarajyam, Nayanatara broke down on the sets and could not control her tears of joy. As the tears rolling down her cheeks, she thanked each and every unit member with folded hands. She is playing the role of Goddess Sita in the movie being directed by veteran director Bapu.Balakrishna is playing the role of Rama.

Sri Ramarajyam has music by maestro Ilayaraja and the music would be launched in the temple premises of Bhadrachalam on August 15.

Actor Sivaji is doing a movie on Chandan movies banner. This romantic comedy is being produced by C D Nagendra. The director of the film Kiran, announced that the movie has been titled ‘Gurudu’.

Sivaji plays the role of a software engineer and Ritu Kaur is the heroine in this movie.

“We found the title apt for this film.Sivaji has delivered his career best performance in this movie. His scenes with Kota Srinivasa Rao are hilarious.We will complete shooting songs for the movie by the end of this month and release the film in the next month” director Nagendra said.

A few days ago, there were reports that director S.S. Rajamouli, who worked with Kajal Aggarwal in Magadheera, approached the actress to perform an item number in his upcoming film Eega and the actress agreed without a second thought!

To the disappointment of Kajal Aggarwal fans, director S.S. Rajamouli himself has now stated that she will not shake a leg for the said special number.

Responding to fans’ questions about the item song, the director posted on Twitter, “News that Kajal doing an item number in Eega are not true. There are no item songs in Eega. Just a baseless rumour…”

Megastar turned politician Chiranjeevi has made it official that he won’t be putting on make-up to his face. When asked about the rumors of he playing a role of Chief Minister in his forthcoming movie, Chiranjeevi emphatically stated that he is dedicated his life to public service now and not interested in returning to films. He also further added that he would love to play the role of Chief Minister in real life than on silver screen.

“I ask my fans to see me in the performances of Ram Charan on screen. I will not act again, ” he said.

Sruthi Haasan hits the jackpot. She bags another biggie in Telugu. She will be playing lead heroine role opposite Pawan Kalyan in Gabbar Singh . Earlier Kajal Agarwal was taken but her dates are no longer available as the movie got delayed, so producer Ganesh Babu approached Sruthi Haasan and she has agreed to do the movie. In a couple of days, she will be signing the movie officially.

Gabbar Singh, remake of Bollywood blockbuster, Dabaangg, will be launched next month. Harish Shankar is the director.

Sruthi Haasan is currently working with NTR in Churakatti and Siddharth in O My Friend and Surya in a Tamil film.

Kaali is the title that has force and recall value. This is the name that is being considered for Pawan Kalyan’s latest film, sources told us. Director Vishnu Vardhan initially titled his film as The Shadow with Pawan Kalyan but when negative feedback came in, producer and director said it is just a working title. A little birdie from Kolkota, where the film’s current shoot is going on, informed us that Kaali is seriously being considered as the title.

Dil Raju’s multi-starrer, starring Mahesh Babu and Venkatesh in the lead, has been confirmed. Mahesh Babu heard the story narrated by director Srikanth Addala recently and has given his green signal to the project.

Although Dil Raju is waiting for the right time to announce the project, sources in film circles have confirmed that Mahesh Babu has already signed on the dotted line. Notably, the film was planned with Pawan Kalyan and Venkatesh initially. This film would go to sets by 2011 end. Heroines are not yet finalized.(galatta)

Priyamani is currently shooting for a film titled Kshetram in Hyderabad. Other than this, Priyamani has no film in Telugu. Her attempts to regain the lost ground in Telugu film industry have not materialized. Desperate to save the flagging career, she is now putting pressure on NTR, with him she worked in Yamadonga earlier, to giver her chance in the movie in direction of Boyapati.

The film has Sruthi Haasan as the main heroine and search is on for second heroine. Knowing that second lead is still vacant, Priyamani is trying hard to get that role.

Veteran producer M.S.Reddy’s controversial remarks against director Gunashekar have created furor. Soon after Mr.Reddy’s comments were published in the media, director Gunasekhar immediately gave clarification and had refuted allegations made on him. He termed Mr.Reddy’s autobiography as fictional story.

Comedian turned lead hero Sunil has finally okayed two movies. One of them is remake of Tanu Weds Manu , a Hindi blockbuster, and this film would go to the sets shortly. Mega Supergood Movies has bagged the remake rights from the Hindi producer although several other producers in Tollywood have tried to get the remake rights. Having delivered a blockbuster with Sunil as hero with a remake earlier in the form of Andala Ramudu , Mega Supergood films is excited about this remake of Tanu Weds Manu.

Allu Arjun’s big budgeted extravaganza, Badrinath , has finally been cleared by Censor Board. The movie is awarded with “A” certificate. Producer Allu Aravind officially announced the release date – June 10th.

Badrinath is releasing simultaneously in Telugu and Malayalam on June 10th. Directed by V V Vinayak and stars Tamannah as heroine.

Showing off mid-riff in every song, wearing micro-skirts and knickers, sizzling in drenched clothes, Tamannah is looking so hot these days. Unlike in her past films, she is now indulging in heavy skin show. When asked about this, she defends the skin show.
 
“I think every woman is incomplete without her sensuous side. There are different ways of showing and portraying it-like Madhubala did it with her smile or Madhuri with her eyes. I would always do something within my comfort level and keeping in mind, my pluses,” Tammu said.

Upcoming actress Samantha, who shot to fame with Gautham Menon’s Ye Maya Chesave and Jr. NTR’s Brindaavanam, will be the heroine opposite young hero Ram Charan Teja in his next film to be directed by V.V. Vinayak.

According to sources, the makers of this untitled film approached the actress for the female lead role and she accepted the project without a second thought.

Cinematographer Siva who made debut with Gopichand’s Sowryam as director recently delivered big hit in Tamil. He remade Vikramarkudu into Tamil as Siruttai with Karthi as hero and hit the jackpot. Now Ravi Teja has okayed Siva’s script and the movie will go to the sets very soon. Producer Burugupalli Shivaramakrishna produces the movie.

Ravi Teja has just begun working for director Gunashekar’s Nippu. He will join the shoot of Siva’s mass movie from August.

Interestingly, Siva’s second film as director, Shankam, was big dud but his remake of Vikramarkudu into Tamil made him as hot director again.

Vikram and Anushka have teamed up for a Tamil film, Deiva Thirumagal, which is now being dubbed into Telugu as Nanna. The film will have its audio launch on Saturday (May 21) at Prasad Labs in Hyderabad.

Nanna is about a young chap who is mentally challenged and Anushka plays the role of a lawyer. Anushka is not paired up with Vikram in the movie. Tamil director Vijay has directed the movie.

Chennai: Clearing the air on Tamil superstar Rajinikanth’s illness, who was yesterday admitted to ICU at the Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre, the sixty-one year old superstar’s wife Latha held a press conference and told the media that Rajinikanth is doing fine.

Thanking all the fans of Rajini, a confident Latha said, “I would like to thank all of you for the love and affection for this family. He is doing fine, all his organs are fine.”

Citing dehydration and stomach infection as the cause of illness, Latha added that, “Do not write more than necessary. Rajini is in ICU because it is a sterile and protected place. Doctors are working to put him in comfortable parameters.”

Kajal Agarwal is slowly inching towards the top position. After a series of hits, she has signed another big movie. Kajal Agarwal has been roped in to pair up with handsome Mahesh Babu in his soon to be launched movie, The Business Man.

Puri Jagannadh directs this film. RR Movie Makers produces the flick that will commence its regular shoot in August.

Earlier Sruthi Haasan was considered for this movie, but after seeing the string of successes Kajal has delivered recently, the producer and director signed this Agarwal beauty.
