Rihanna romps with robots in shocking stage performance

London: Rihanna shocked audiences with a performance that would definitely be `Rated R`, when she took to the stage in Germany and gyrated with robots.

The 22-year-old sang her latest single `Rude Boy` which has already grabbed headlines with it`s racy lyrics, in a performance which veered to the lewd side, reported a news website.

Wearing a black and white bodysuit, the `Disturbia` hitmaker walked around the stage as the machines kissed her, pinched her derriere and sprayed water on her.

The singer, touched herself suggestively as she sang `Rude Boy` from her latest album `Rated R` which entered the US Billboards at No 8.

The single has become the singer`s fourth Hot 100 hit, the most by a female artist since the beginning of the last decade.

Rihanna`s outrageous performance was perhaps recognition that she is facing competition from new faces on the music scene, including Lady GaGa and pop sensation Ke$ha, who has been nicknamed Baby Gaga.

Earlier, Rihanna arrived on the red carpet in a jumpsuit that featured exaggerated sleeves and a plunging neckline.

Other performers at the event, which is dubbed the German Grammys, included British stars Robbie Williams and Sade.(PTI)
